Camino Gratitude Portugal

After completing the Camino Portugués, I travelled to Međugorje, a small village in the southern part of Bosnia-Herzegovina, near the Adriatic Sea. In 1981, six children were hiking the Medjugorje mountains when a woman appeared to them, asking the children to pray with Her. The woman introduced herself as Mary, Mother of Jesus, promising to return each day to speak with them. Mary has appeared in Medjugorje ever since, producing miracles and a message “I have come to tell the world that God exists. He is the fullness of life, and to enjoy this fullness and peace, you must return to God, do not be afraid. I am calling you to spread love and mercy through the world.”

On the evening of April 12th, I was with Marija Pavlovic, a Međugorje Visionary of 54 years. That evening Maija saw, spoke and listened to Mary praying and blessing 40 pilgrims that evening. Our Lady prayed for peace in our hearts, in our families and in the whole world. Marija asked Mary to fulfill our intentions and prayers, whatever we held in our hearts, and to intercede for us before Her Son. My prayer was for my brother Tom, suffering from advanced cancer, to remove his pain and distress. Tom died just a few hours later, his pain was over, and his life with God was just beginning. I consider my prayers to have been answered that evening, just hours after my request to Holy Mary.
